Each fan is made using the traditional Marugame Uchiwa technique, in which the handle and ribs are crafted from a single piece of bamboo. This distinctive structure provides durability, flexibility, and the elegant appearance that has characterized Marugame Uchiwa for centuries.

Each Marugame Uchiwa is created through 47 carefully executed steps. Skilled artisans shape, split, weave, and finish every fan by hand using techniques passed down through generations.
