About Minna no Sakagura
“Minna no Sakagura” aims to become an open brewery where everyone, from children to grandparents, can take part in sake-making. Sake brewing does not have to be something reserved only for skilled professionals; it can also be something anyone can engage with freely and creatively. This is a place where anyone can experience what it feels like to become a toji, or sake brewer.
At the heart of “Minna no Sakagura” is an “amateur mindset”: a pure, open approach to sake-making that is not bound too tightly by conventions or established rules. By valuing free thinking and fresh ideas, the brewery explores new ways of enjoying sake and new possibilities for brewing.
The brewery also offers an “amateur brewing experience,” similar to a pottery workshop. Visitors can choose ingredients they like and create their own original sake, making the process of sake brewing feel more accessible, personal, and enjoyable.
Through this fun brewing experience, “Minna no Sakagura” brings people to Ofunato and creates a place where unique and individual sake creations are born. It is a warm and open brewery where people can drink the sake they have made together, laugh together, and share the joy of brewing.
